Couple of Rumors (12/6/08)

•June 12, 2008 • Leave a Comment

-Blackburn’s striker Roque Santa Cruz has apparently drawn interest from us, and we may be prepared to launch a 10 million dollar bid for him, that is if Man U don’t strike first.

-The signing of Roque Santa Cruz could be a response to us selling Adebayor, if thats the case, then I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

-AC Milan VP Adriano Galliani has said that AC Milan have agreed to terms on a contract with Adebayor, but that Arsenal will not respond to their inquiries about how much they want for him. Honestly this guy must be retarded. Why are they not answering? Because they don’t want to sell him you fuckin cunt!

-Another possible replacement for Flamini has been announced. 31 year old Torsten Frings, a mildfielder from Werder Bremen who Arsenal could reportedly get for 4 million pounds,  Don’t know much about him, but he is a little on the old side, still, he would bring some more experience to the team.

-Sporting’s Miguel Veloso has been quoted by saying that he wants to leave the club after the 2008 Euro.  Arsenal and Manchester United are sure to have interest in the 22 year old midfielder, along with Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and AC Milan.  Clearly he is wanted in the Premiership.

-According to Arsene Wegner, Arsenal will not be improving the defense anymore this off-season.  He said that Arsenal, although they have scouted him, will not go after Central Back Vincent Kompany from HSV and that although he is quality, Arsenal do not want him right now.

Carlos Vela Arrested

Update- I guess Vela got off and no charges were filed against him, but the captain of the Mexican Team, Oswaldo Sanchez was charged with resisting arrest and fined $1,000.  Luckily Vela got off, that would have been an embarassing moment for a kid who hasn’t even been on the pitch yet

According to press reports, young Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has been arrested by police in Chicago.  After his Mexico team lost to Lionel Messi and the #1 ranked Argentinian team, Vela was arrested with the rest of teammates just a day later in Chicago. Vela denied that he did anything “illegal”, but this could be a huge blow to his and the teams confidence in the youngster.  We will keep you updated on this as the story develops.

David Villa Puts on Clinic, Arsenal Bound?

•June 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Valencia Striker David Villa put on a show yesterday, scoring the first hat-trick in the Euro since 2000.  Villa who has recently been quoted by saying that he would enjoy a move to Arsenal.  Arsene Wegner has not made a statement about him, and the chances of signing him would be very slim, but at the same time, Adebayor and Villa upfront would be a striker pair for years to come, and then of course you still have Van Persie when he isn’t injured (which is almost never).  Either way Villa would be a very nice aquisition, but an expensive one, probably requiring anywhere between 20-25 million for him.  Still, Adebayor and Villa…we can dream can’t we.

After scoring a hat-trick vs. Russia Villa\'s stock has risen, but does Arsene Wegner like him enough to get him?

Ramsey Chooses Arsenal, Rejects Man U

•June 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Cardiff City youngster Aaron Ramsey has reportedly chosen Arsenal over Manchester United.  Ramsey a 17 year old prospect, viewed as the next big British player has signed a contract with Arsenal, and a announcement will likely be made within the next 2 or 3 days.  3 offers were accepted by Cardiff, 1 from Arsenal, 1 from Man U, and 1 from Everton.  Ramsey quickly declined Everton, but wanted to choose between Man U and Arsenal.  Man U sent Gary Neville to show Ramsey around the Man U home, while Arsenal had Ramsey and his family flown in a private jet to meet Arsene Wegner.  Ramsey clearly prefered Arsenal and was guarenteed that he would not be loaned out, and he will learn how to play football the Arsenal way.  Welcome to Arsenal Ramsey, glad you made the right choice.

Hleb Leaving, Ramsey to Arsenal?

•June 10, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Attacking midfielder Alexander Hleb will most likely be leaving Arsenal soon in a move to another major club.  Spanish Giants Barcelona and Real Madrid appear to be the front runners with Bayern Munich also in the running.  Hleb’s Agent, Uli Ferber was quoted earlier this week by saying “Barcelona can close the deal with Arsenal this week. Alex has more offers but this is a great opportunity and he feels very proud at the interest Barcelona have shown in him.” I’m not sure if it is that simple, but either way, it is very likely that Hleb will be leaving, not that it is much of a dissapointment.  Hleb had not done much in his 3 years with the Gunners, and it is probably a time for a change (ecspecially if that change brings 15-20 million euros back).

Alexander Hleb could be moving to Barcelona next season

In other news, Cardiff City’s young star Aaron Ramsey will likely be leaving the club to join either Manchester United, Everton, or Arsenal.  Ramsey has made it clear that Arsenal are the favorites as reported in The BBC this morning.  The rumored bids being 5 million, Cardiff would prefer he leave for Manchester United or Everton so he could stay on loan, which would be part of the bid accepted.  Either way Ramsey would be a nice player to get, ecspeically being rumored as the “next big thing to come out of England.”  Ramsey would add to an already deep youth system in which Arsenal seem to be keen upon in improving.  Looks like this will be settled in the next week or 2.

Ramsey would give the Gunners some more youth depth, as the next “big thing” from England

Flamini to AC Milan, Who Will Replace Him?

•June 10, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Since Midfielder Matthew Flamini left for AC Milan after his contract had expired, 1 main question has risen. Who will replace him? The Gunners have been connected to Marsielle Attacking Mid Samir Nasri for well over a month, and after figuring out the legal ramifications of his contract, may end up in Arsenal after the 2008 Euro Cup. The Gunners have supposedly made a bid inbetween the 12-15 million range for Nasri, and apparently it has been accepted. With Flamini gone, Nasri would start at attacking mid and would give Arsenal a young rising star with experience something Wegner has been at finding.

Others connected to Arsenal are, Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani, Aston Villa midefielder Gareth Barry, and Werder Bremen’s Diego, but none have been rumored more than Nasri who will likely be in a Arsenal Jersey next year,
